Back Safe Home Again

This post is going to seem more like a placeholder for a real post, I think.  Right now, I’m in the throes of back-to-work and back-to-school, so I don’t have time to post photos or write a whole lot.

We’ve returned from our family vacation at the beach, and I don’t have to travel anywhere else for a whole month.  That’s fortunate, because I need the next few weeks to get the boys settled into school and then deal with fiscal year-end madness at work.

I didn’t knit as much during our vacation as I thought I would.  That’s due in part to leaving the pattern for Peter’s hat at home, and in part for forsaking the Travelling Shawl in favor of my beach reading, Under Heaven — an excellent choice for summer reading.  Complex enough to be interesting, but not so much as to require too much pondering.  I finished the book, but only one repeat on the shawl.

Back home now, I’ve got about 10 days to get the boys ready for school, plus deal with all the usual household and work matters. I’ve made some progress on the St. Brigid sweater’s second sleeve, and will keep at it.  I will post photos as soon as I can — this week or the next.
