I spent a good deal of today working on knitterly things. I visited Knit Knack, where I was on the lookout for yarn to start my Christmas knitting (yes, I’m one of those knitters who knits for Christmas year-round). I came home with lots of neat yarn for some planned projects.
One thing I’d like to try is Tina Sanders’ Painted Cables Scarf, which I saw in the 2001 Pattern A Day Knitting Calendar, also available here. For that, I bought Paint Box by Knit One Crochet Two:
I’m also planning to make several of the Yarn Harlot’s Encompass Cowls (pattern available on Ravelry). For those, I picked up some Cascade 220 Paints in three different colorways:
The color in this last photo came out a little strange. It’s really more teal than what you see here.
I also finished the Hooded Baby Blanket:
I’m showing it here with the washcloth that goes with it.
Next up? Well, I had to buy a skein of Dreamland (not Fancy) to sew up the hood, so I think I may make a quick hat with the remainder and include that with the gift. I’ll post that when I get it finished.
